Supported by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI); the project is a training and capacity development program that aims to promote and integrate inclusion of persons with disability in local disaster risk reduction planning and management in the 13 municipalities of the province of Benguet  that started in October 2017.

Workshop on Disability Inclusion and Development (DID) and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on November 22-24, 2018 in Baguio city: Thirty eight (38) participants participated in the 3-day workshop from the following sectors and organizations:

  • 10 municipal LGU’s
  • 1 City and Provincial LGU
  • Representative from the Municipal and Provincial Social Welfare Office
  • 2 academe
  • Benguet Division Office of the Department of Education (DepEd)
  • Federation/Association of Persons with Disability and a service provider for persons with disability

Twenty three (23) out of the thirty-eight (38) participants are persons with disability from 4 Federation/Association of Persons with Disability. The workshop was facilitated by Life Haven Center for Independent Living.

Workshop on Disability Sensitivity in Disaster Preparedness and Response, and Disability Inclusion Tools and Methodologies in Community-based DRRM on February 7-9, 2018 in Baguio city: Forty five (45) participants participated in the workshop that include representatives from:

  • Local DRRM Offices from the Provincial LGU, 13 municipal LGU’s and City of Baguio
  • Social Welfare and Development Office
  • Benguet Division Office of the Department of Education (DepEd)
  • Federation/Association of Persons with Disability, and academe
